Hanbjerg Møbelfabrik A/S

Hanbjerg Møbelfabrik A/S was founded in 1956 by cabinetmaker Egon Jensen. From the very beginning the production was mainly veneered shelving in teak veneer.

In 1965 the factory moved to its current location on Strandvejen in Hanbjerg. The assortment was expanded with production of bookcases, wall units and chest of drawers. Bookcases in teak veneer became the main production with U.S. as the main market.

From bookcases to office storage:

Avoiding dependency of just one market Egon Jensen was the co-founder of the sales organisation FUMAC in August 1981. The main purpose of the sales organisation was to establish sales channels into other markets than the U.S. market for all members of the sales organisation.

In cooperation between the sales organisation and the factories, it was decided to concentrate on office furniture. The very first line was a line of open bookcases – known in Denmark as the FUMAC bookcase. The line is today still a part of the production range.

The range of office furniture from Hanbjerg Møbelfabrik is today several complette ranges known as FUMAC CLASSIC, ARKI+ and FUMAC @ WORK.

Egon Jensen’s son Tommy Jensen took over the factory in 1989. In 2001 a new additional production facility was opened in Vinderup, and Hanbjerg Møbelfabrik A/S is today a very modern production facility known for its well designed furniture of good quality.

All sales of office furniture manufactured at Hanbjerg Møbelfabrik is sold through FUMAC A/S with sales in Denmark and several other countries.

FUMAC A/S

The sales organisation FUMAC was founded August 1st 1981 without any range of products and any regular customers. The philosophy was clear – By mutual marketing and sales of a complimentary range of office furniture involving all the manufacturers, sales should be opened up to as many markets as possible with a wide base of regular customers.

FUMAC has achieved these goals.

In todays market place it is necessary to concentrate on larger cooperations to become even more effective. As a result all production of FUMAC office furniture is based on Hanbjerg Møbelfabrik A/S, where the addition of the new production plant in 2001 secured the latest techonology is available in this process.

FUMAC is a limited company with Hanbjerg Møbelfabrik A/S as the main share holder.
